Mergers and Acquisitions
Having bought and sold businesses using their own capital, our principals understand the anxiety that can go with buying or selling a business. We work with prospective sellers to prepare a business for sale and discretely market it to qualified purchasers. We also work with potential buyers to discretely find businesses to purchase.
Access to capital is the single biggest impediment to growth for most business owners. We have a broad network of relationships with traditional and non-traditional lenders and equity investors and are available to assist in refinancing existing debt as well as raising debt or equity for new ventures.
Commercial Real Estate
Choice of location and the underlying lease is a key influencer of business value. We have significant experience representing both landlords and tenants in negotiation of leases to ensure that our clients’ interests are protected and value is maximized. We work closely with Provincial Realty, an affiliated firm, to ensure maximum coverage of available opportunities.
Operators often require additional equity to grow, or wish to divest a portion of their shareholdings as part of a retirement strategy. We match operators with strategic investors and occasionally invest alongside our clients.
We work with businesses in financial distress, on behalf of lenders or shareholders, and provide hands-on restructuring services, including formulating strategy, refinancing debt, recapitalizations, operational changes, contract negotiations, and interim management services.
